Curb appeal is more than simply making your house look pretty and appealing from the road, it is all about helping preserve the value and could save you money over the long term. Here are 5 tips to improve your home’s curb appeal.
Tip 1 – Out with the old
Repair trim that might be damaged or rotted. There are lots of how-to guides or if you aren’t very handy, call in a professional to give you a hand. Not only does it make your home look cared for it helps keep further damage from spreading! Rotten wood has the potential of letting in water into your home.
Tip 2 – You’ve got mail
Is your mailbox falling off or rusted? If either of these two things is the case your home may look unloved or un-lived in. Straighten it out or give it a fresh coat of paint! This is a quick and easy fix.
Tip 3 – Get a ladder
Cleaning out your eaves trough and gutters! Messy job! But it can be worth it. If we keep the gutters clear from debris they don’t get dirty as quickly and the water flows away from your home. Which over time, could do damage to your roof and or the foundation if the eaves troughs aren’t extended out from the home.
Tip 4 – Let it shine!
Windows that are clean can be beneficial in two ways. From the outside it says “I love my home” and it allows for more natural light to brighten up the inside. This is one of the easiest fixes to do.
Tip 5 – Make an oasis
A more expensive option is to renovate (or add) your front porch. This can really clean up the front of your home and create a great place to share with family and friends, especially if you add furniture and planters.
By doing any or all of the above your home will look better and will maintain its property values! Good luck with your projects!
