Community Involvement

Michael was raised in Guelph, ON, and is an alumnus of the University of Guelph, after an internship with the Vancouver Canucks and employment at the NHL Players' Association he returned to Guelph to raise his own family and continue building roots in this great community. Quality of life and time with family and friends is a priority for Michael. He and his wife are the proud parents of two daughters and one son. He supports his community through children's charities and helping those involved in youth athletics. He says of the kids he coaches soccer, "helping them become what they have the potential to be" is very rewarding (Michael coaches both his daughter's teams). Sport is a big part of his life.
